Please welcome my beautiful friend Kaysi to Wise Women!
I had the pleasure to visit a church to speak for their women’s day. The topic that had been requested six months prior – ‘The power of the tongue’ talking about there is life and death in the power of the tongue and the words we use to others and ourselves.
As usual, in the days leading up, I started having my doubts. Is this presentation good enough? Will it come off as intended? Am I good enough for this?
As I was getting ready the morning of, I received a text from my friend wanting to pray with me. Oh – such a blessing! She did not know how needed that was – especially in that moment. I called her and we prayed together.
Fast forward to the end of presentation. My daughter who had sat with my mom and friend was getting antsy – she wanted me. That’s not unusual – as I figured she might have been tired and had already spent so much time near me – but not being directly with me.
After a few moments, she shared something with me. She said she had used her tongue in the wrong way, and that I was going to be mad. Not really understanding, as I was thinking she had stuck out her tongue at someone, I told her I would not be mad and she could tell me. She shared that she had said something to someone a few days before that she shouldn’t have.
Ahhhh. Now I understood. My heart filled with both love and humility. My daughter had sat there and listened to the words I had spoken and they had convicted her to the point of both tears and confession. We talked about it and she knew the way to fix what she had done.
My prayer for you and me today? Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the convicting power of the Holy Spirit! Thank you for revealing your wisdom through children as they learn your Truth! Help us to learn as well.
